5Decent oxy-acetylene welding googles, flip up shade  Jan 21, 2009 By Michael A. Duvernois
Okay, there are two groups of folks looking at this item, Steampunk costume folks and welders.

For the welders:
- Well built, inexpensive
- Both the clear and shaded glass were flat and well-attached
- The ventilation on the goggles was especially good

For the steampunk folks:
- The googles themselves are rubber-plastic, would need decoration
- Strap is decidedly modern looking
- There is (safety) text on the lenses
- Look pretty good and are cheap

5Doctor Horrible outfit  Aug 14, 2010 By David "David"
I got these for my Doctor Horrible's Sing-Along Blog costume and they ROCK.
They cause an indentation on the forehead if you wear them like Dr. Horrible; but Moleskin can solve that problem.
See you at Dragon*Con!

4Get what you pay for.  Feb 22, 2010 By Fran "w1ljmm"
Not what I would consider professional equipment, but it will do for the little oxy-acetylene work I do.

4good product, easy to mod  Aug 06, 2010 By jader
I purchased these goggles for a steampunk costume. I love how the lenses come out easily so I could paint the goggle; a screw-in piece holds the lenses in and can be unscrewed for removal. However, the goggles are huge for my face and head, so I won't be able to wear them on top of my head comfortably. Still, they are a great look, and also useful for protecting eyes while cutting onions.

3Hobart Gas Welding goggles  Jul 09, 2011 By Nick-VA
I recently received my pair after ordering them from the seller 'Bravofun' with free shipping option. Within 3 days of my order, the product arrived with some amount of dirt and dust inside the facepeice but that did not bother me much and I am satisfied with this product. I purchased the goggles with the intent of using them for welding, but they make an excellent costume accessory as well. They are not quite as sturdy as I expected but still appear to provide the adequate amount of protection, however I am no industrial safety expert so don't trust my assessment to much. Note that the clear lenses are not very thick so I would not do any welding unless the flip shades are down to provide extra protection. These goggles of course ARE NOT intended for arc welding because the shade is not dark enough to prevent eye damage from the bright arc, however they seem to be Ok for Oxygen Acetylene work. My pair is completely unmarked with no logos, brands, writing or numbers which slightly concerns me ,but I doubt that its a big deal.

This product is Definitely adequate for my purposes, but an experienced or professional welder should go for something better.

I would rate it a 3 & 1/2 if i had the option
