2Well, that didn't last long...  Oct 12, 2009 By Matthew Cooper "mcooper"
I wanted to like this because it seemed to have just the right configuration of pockets and the price can't be beat, however, after only wearing it a few times (like six,) the neck strap has almost completely torn through where it meets the bib. Not the stitching, the actual leather. All I've loaded it up with so far is a tape measure and a pencil so it's not like I abused it in any way whatsoever.

You get what you pay for normally, but in that case I don't think I even got that much.

5Blacksmith apron  Sep 29, 2009 By Larry A. Johnson "Vhawg"
I looked for quite a while for a suitable apron for smithing that would not bleed color, had leather straps and pockets. This one perfectly fills the bill for me. It keeps my clothes clean and gives me somewhere to put small tools.

Update-- After about a month one of the waist straps tore off. The straps are pretty thin. I repaired it with some webbing from the fabric shop. I still like the apron, but the straps need improvement.

3straps are the issue  May 12, 2010 By David Kumagai "Grouchy Guy"
Thanks to the more critical reviews, I bought this with the thought in mind that the straps would need attention sooner or later. I was nonplussed when the 'sooner' turned out to be RIGHT NOW. The straps are made of a single ply of the same leather as the apron, attached with box stitching. The one I received had the stitching pulling loose from one side at the neck strap RIGHT OUT OF THE PACKAGE, WITHOUT DONNING IT EVEN ONCE! The metal hardware you see in the photo are nice double-headed rivets (despite the description there are no snaps, heavy or otherwise. If the straps were 2 plies sewn together and attached to the apron with these same rivets, this would be a 5-star item, especially for the price.

I like the weight of the suede leather, which is heavier than a heayweight denim apron and affords more protection against cuts and sparks, yet is not so thick as to be hot or stiff. I still give this 3 stars. The pockets are attached with 2 lines of stitching and the rivets present a smooth, comfortable feel on the inside, unlike tubular rivets which can scratch or snag. As long as you know what you're getting into, and as long as you don't mind tinkering with it a bit (I don't-- a trip to the leather crafts store, a few rivets and some scrap leather or webbing, and I figure I'll be in good shape) I feel this is an acceptable deal. Just be aware.

5Perfect!  Feb 05, 2010 By Ali C. Bagci "Shop Man"
After looking locally for a leather apron, don't know why I didn't look here first. This apron in not only perfect for welding but meets my needs when down in the shop, when doing a quick cut, I don't have to dress out. I can simply toss the apron on and get the job done. I am alway at the ready b/c my most common measuring tools stay in the apron pockets.

5Practical and affordable  Dec 08, 2009 By Jason A. Rumble
This extremely durable leather apron is a great choice for anyone who needs extra protection in the shop for working with power tools or for welding. The adjustable straps allow for this apron to fit a wide range of sizes comfortably with only minor adjustment. This apron includes three spacious front pockets to store pliers or other tools at hand. Overall an excellent product for a very reasonable price.
