BEST BUY I CAN FIND Feb 24, 2004
By Tucker McCabe I am a carpenter in Yonkers and I have tried everyone of these new kinds of gloves in the last few years. Mechanix, BucketBoss, Ringers, Ironclad, MechPro and Craftsman. None of them last as long as the General Utility by Youngstown. If you are going to pay $20 for a pair of gloves they better last. And I have been happy with these!

Great Gloves Feb 11, 2007
By B. Campbell I don't know where I got my first pair of these gloves, but I don't like any others besides these. I've been doing a lot of renovation work from framing, tiling, drywall, siding, flooring, etc... These gloves work well for all applications. The palms and fingers have the reinforced material, and the back is just stretchy material. I never feel as though my hands get hot or sweaty. I can wear them all day and forget I've got them on. I've worn out several pair through general mistreatment, but I have to buy more. I've tried the HomeDepot versions, Lowes versions, and general cheap kinds. These are better than all those put together. The fit is great. Like another reviewer stated, they're are hard to find locally, and they are kind of pricey for gloves, but I think they are worth it.

Great gloves, they will wear out quickly Nov 09, 2009
By M. Potvin I love these gloves, they are so much nicer than a standard leather work glove that fits loosely. With these gloves, you don't lose the dexterity that you do with the bulky leather work gloves. You'll still be able to screw something in without having to take off the gloves, which you'll find next to impossible with the leather work gloves.
Love that they were machine washable. Hands do get sweaty in them but I never really noticed it, you don't get the clammy feeling that you get with a cowhide glove.
After about 6-8 months of homeowner use, stacking wood, putting in wooden fence posts, raking leaves, etc. the gloves began getting holes in the fingers. Not sure yet if I'll replace with another set of these or look for a set of gloves from another manufacturer.

Hate to do this but...... Nov 27, 2009
By Teebird These gloves seem nice and fit perfectly but after using them for 7 days, three fingers had torn on the side rendering them useless. I'm not sure of the definition of "general utility" gloves but I used them for simple and basic use. I will say, I was carrying lumber and pipe at times but not extended use. I have gloves purchased in a 10 pack, and cheap, that last longer then these. I had no issues with them when I was painting though so I guess that might be the extent of their use. I hate giving a low rating but I feel $16 for a pair of gloves that last 7 days warrants the rating. Do not take this review as a knock on Youngstown gloves as I will make another purchase of Youngstown but kick it up to a heavy duty glove.

These Gloves FIT! Mar 07, 2006
By E. Richardson I am 6'6" tall. I have hands the size of small canoe paddles. On most XL gloves the fingers are about 1/2 to 3/4 as long as my fingers. These gloves fit. They are extremely comfortable. They seem to have a great balance between toughness and dexterity. I just used them to put up a fence, really splintery wood, no splinters. I was able to easily retrieve screws, nails etc from my tool belt. I will definately buy them again!
